Safety routines
Windows and open doors
Every lesson room has a window in its door, or the door stays open.
Parents may sit in
A parent is welcome to sit in on any lesson, and the hall has a bench for waiting.
Who may collect a student
We hand a student only to the grown-ups on your pickup list, and we ask for ID from anyone we do not know.
When a student is ill
A student with a fever stays home. Tell us by text or a call and we will let your teacher know.

Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A student with a fever or a cough stays home and comes back when they feel well. Tell us by text or a call as early as you can, so your teacher knows not to wait.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for harvest week in late September, for Thanksgiving week and for two weeks around the new year. When the roads are icy we decide by noon and text every family.
Drop-off and pickup
We hand a student only to the grown-ups on your pickup list, and we ask for ID from anyone we do not know. Parents may wait on the bench in the hall.
Watching class and recitals
Parents and grandparents are welcome to sit in on any lesson. At recitals and jam evenings, listeners come in quietly, put phones on silent and clap when a tune ends.
Leaving the program
We ask for a month's notice before a student stops lessons, by email or at the front desk, so we can offer the time to someone waiting.
What to wear and bring
Wear what lets your hands and arms move. For a recital, a clean shirt and good shoes are plenty. Nobody needs concert dress.
Screens and phones
Phones go on silent in the lesson room, and we ask students not to film a teacher or another student without asking. A tablet is fine when your teacher asks for one.
Questions about how we work?
